Floyd and John Hosmer have committed themselves to their service to others every day so that they may enlighten not only their customers and community, but themselves as well.
Hosmer Studio and Gallery is a family owned company that began in 2004 and has quickly expanded from a small photography service to a 1500 square foot private studio and office space tucked away behind Oak Mountain State park. Both Floyd and John are professionally trained artists with extensive backgrounds in printmaking, photography, design, illustration and fine art. Both believe in simplifying the approach to the work, not overcomplicating with outside processes, and because of that, they are able to focus specifically on serving their customers and clients to the highest satisfaction.
Floyd E. Hosmer is a graduate of both Auburn University and the Medical School of the University of Georgia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art as well as both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Medical Illustration. For over 40 years he has worked as a worldwide freelance artist, partnering with some of the most highly respected surgeons. He has illustrated thousands of various medical procedures, pharmaceutical drug interactions, and educational material. In addition, his fine art capabilities have gained the respect and admiration of people around the globe including Christian authors Edith and Francis Schaffer, allowing him the opportunity to provide illustrations for Edith’s book “The Art of Life.” Furthermore, he has worked closely with Christian author Ruth Bell Graham (wife of Billy Graham), and provided illustrations for her book, “Legacy of the Pack Rat.”
John A. Hosmer is a graduate of Auburn University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art with a concentration in Printmaking. For over 18 years he has worked extensively in digital art, photography and photo enhancements in the field of Desktop Publishing and Printmaking. He has held numerous positions throughout his career doing photo enhancement, photography, and page output work, which has led to directly working on some of the top periodicals in the nation including: Southern Living, Progressive Farmer, Southern Accents, Coastal Living, Cooking Light, Martha Steward Weddings and Oprah Magazine.
